Over the past 15 years, Schuff Steel has been supporting Desert Voices Oral Learning Center in its annual Charity Golf Classic. With the help of employees, vendors, customers, sponsors and volunteers, along with charitable organizations like Thunderbird Charities, the events have helped to raise more than $1.725 million over the years. This past year we raised $125,000, with more than 43 sponsors, 180 golfers and numerous volunteers, staff and parents.
Desert Voices Oral Learning Center is the only non-profit organization in Arizona that’s dedicated to teaching deaf children the listening and spoken language skills they need to feel comfortable speaking and understanding others in conversation.
Schuff Steel first became involved with the organization after witnessing the profound impact it had on the daughter of one of our employees, who enrolled in 2002. With the support of Desert Voices, these children are provided with the oral language skills that help them communicate more easily in their everyday lives.
Desert Voices Oral Learning Center provides life changing services to children who are deaf, firmly believing that when you give a child a voice, you can give them the world.
Over the years, the Schuff Steel events have supported and impacted the lives of many children, helping to ensure they won’t have any limitations because of hearing loss.
