Our Preconstruction approach
Schuff Steel has formulated a Preconstruction team to address the items critical to the success of a project. Our approach utilizes modern technology combined with our historical experience throughout the steel industry to ensure the most economical option for our Client, allowing the project team to realize these savings early in the process.
Through our involvement in design meetings, structural specification and drawing review, and constructability evaluation, we strive to ensure our budget and schedule hold firm throughout the process.
How our Preconstruction team works
Schuff Steel’s Preconstruction team includes a Preconstruction Manager, as well as various members of Schuff Steel as needed throughout this phase for specific expertise and technical support. Our mission is to support the design team to provide a seamless process, assisting in the creation of construction documents and specifications inclusive of all applicable codes and standards, as well as addressing constructability and value-engineering opportunities.
As determined by the Client and the Preconstruction Manager, Schuff will commit appropriate team members to attend weekly or bi-weekly design meetings, as required (Structural Engineers, Detailers, Conceptual Estimators, Project Manager, VDC/BIM Coordinator, Scheduler etc.). Schuff’s agenda will cover all design topics necessary to address critical issues, focused on delivering the most cost effective and schedule-efficient solution to our Client.
