Project Overview
All buildings are linked by elevated pedestrian bridges and surrounded by outdoor collaboration spaces designed to promote wellness and innovation.
Schuff Steel fabricated and erected 3,200 tons of structural steel for this phase, incorporating Bolted SidePlate Moment Frames and BRB’s to provide robust seismic performance and design flexibility. Working within a tight and active corporate campus, our team overcame logistical challenges such as limited laydown space and proximity to an operational manufacturing facility. Precise coordination with DPR Construction and other trade partners was essential to maintaining the project schedule and minimizing disruption to ongoing campus operations.
This expansion achieved ambitious sustainability goals:
- Building A was designed to be Net Zero Energy and achieved LEED Platinum certification
- Building B achieved LEED Gold certification, including 33,000 sq. ft. of research labs
- Extensive rooftop photovoltaic systems and outdoor circulation strategies reduce energy usage across the new facilities
Through precise planning and seamless coordination with the project team, Schuff Steel helped deliver a high-performance, LEED-certified campus expansion that meets the client’s ambitious operational and sustainability goals.
